Wake Forest University - Department of Psychology

Researchers in the Department of Psychology at Wake Forest University are currently testing the effectiveness of an intervention program called SecondStory in a randomized controlled trial. We are looking for licensed therapists to act as paid online facilitators. SecondStory was designed to help individuals overcome challenging life events, decrease distress, and increase well-being and posttraumatic growth. It includes elements from positive psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing, and is informed by the science of personality change. It will be delivered online to small groups (6 sessions over 6 weeks), with multiple cohorts running during spring, summer, and autumn 2021. Scheduling can be flexible to accommodate both the counselors’ and the participants’ needs. If this project sounds interesting, please contact us. We provide a wide variety of mental-health treatments including medication management, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy formats as well as education and consultation concerning mental health issues.  We also perform psychological, educational, and career testing, and we provide several research-based psychotherapy approaches (including cognitive-behavioral).  We employ psychiatrists, doctoral-level psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

TPI is looking for a full or part-time, doctoral-level psychologist who is interested in working with children, adolescents, and families in individual and family therapy.  Different employment or contracting arrangements are available.

We want a clinician who wants to engage in open communication among all of our employees, take ownership of problem-solving, and strive to provide the best professional services possible.

Clinicians have the opportunity to design their own schedule and treat the patients they want to treat.  The call schedule is not burdensome and is equitable.   We offer group rates to our employees for health insurance coverage and the opportunity to purchase life insurance and disability insurance.  We also have an employee-funded safe-harbor 401K plan.  For employees, there is the possibility of an annual bonus based on productivity.
